Green and Blue Planet Solutions Co., Ltd. (GBP), a subsidiary of EnviX in Thailand, was entrusted by a Japanese packaging materials manufacturer to conduct an Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) – Phase 1 for a packaging manufacturing plant near Hanoi, Vietnam. The client was considering acquiring the facility and sought a detailed environmental assessment to evaluate potential risks and the overall environmental value of the site before proceeding with the investment.
GBP collaborated with EnviX Ltd.'s Vietnam-based consulting team to conduct an on-site assessment, focusing on key environmental management aspects, particularly soil and groundwater impacts, as well as compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
The assessment was conducted based on the international standard ASTM E1527-21 (Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process). The team reviewed the plant’s operational history and current environmental management practices. Additionally, environmental documents such as permits, registrations, environmental monitoring reports, incident records, and environmental protection reports were carefully examined.
Through site inspections, interviews with key personnel, and thorough document analysis, we compiled a comprehensive environmental due diligence report, summarizing key findings and insights for the client.
This project enabled the client to identify potential environmental risks associated with the plant’s historical and current operations. Moreover, GBP provided detailed insights into the facility’s compliance with Vietnamese environmental regulations, along with clear explanations in Japanese.
To further support the client’s investment decision, we also shared in-depth knowledge of Vietnam’s environmental regulatory framework, including legal enforcement trends, penalties, and compliance requirements, helping the client make an informed decision.
